Thankful Thursdays- Just Thanks

So often God’s blessings are taken for granted, His pour out goodness on us daily is time and again overlooked. We lose focus of the important thing; we do not keep it the important thing as we move through our everyday activities. Today I pause my God to gives thanks for food, clothing, shelter, employment, water, lights, health, a car, a child not going to bed hungry, not wandering where the money will come from to pay a bill, groceries stores, restaurants, supportive family and friends, a place of worship, freedom, choices, the rising of the sun, the beauty of the moon shining forth to light my way, flowers surrounding my home to remind me of Your glory, green grass, refreshing rain, flowing rivers, the whispering of the wind, laughter, medication, doctors, teachers, spiritual guides, Your word and truth which brings hope, comfort, peace, joy, all Your creation.

Father daily I want to remember Your great blessings. Let me remember You are not just there in the problems, worries, and tribulations, You are always there, always blessing. I love and adore You. Thank You for loving and adoring me. Let me not forget those less fortunate and help me to bring You glory by bringing You to those in need. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen

Giving Thanks

Reflection
Life is made of moments of goodness, peace, joy, love, happiness and laughter. God pours out His compassion upon us in many ways and He takes great pleasure in doing so. These moments we rejoice and we lift joyful hearts in praise. God takes us to the mountain top and we feel loved and highly favored. Giving thanks is not a problem, we are jubilant in recognizing God as Almighty, Powerful, Sovereign, Wonderful, Trustworthy and Loving. We sing high praises to His Holy Name. This is how it should be; we should always recognize and praise God for His blessings and care of us. The question becomes can we offer this same praise when life meets us with pain, sorrow, lost, hurt, discouragement, sickness, sadness, hate, and tears? How obedient to God’s word are we during these moments. I think it becomes more important to lift God’s name in praise during these times of valley experiences. It is in these moments we discover who we really are in Christ. A true believer, following the path God has set before us whatever it may consist of. Are we willing to carrying the cross not knowing the distance but with each step praising and giving thanks to God Almighty, all Powerful, Sovereign, Wonderful, Trustworthy and Loving?

No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Deeper Reflection

Do you consistently give thanks to God when life is good?
Do you recognize His blessings in your life?
How do you handle life when it meets you with troubles?
Do you lift God in praise during these times? Is your heart truly thankful when life is not what you desire?

Deeper Still

Ephesians 5:19-20
Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Daniel 6:10
Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.

Psalm 69:30
I will praise God's name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving.

Praying the scriptures

Father God. Life does not always bring our hearts’ desire. It brings pain and sorrow, sickness and disappointments. During these times Lord let us not forget all your benefits; let us lift your Name in high praise offering you thanksgiving whatever the circumstance. Lord we trust You and know You work everything for our good, so we offer you thanks whatever the cross for this is Your will for all who belong to Christ Jesus. Jesus in Your sweet Name we pray. Amen

Thankful Thursdays

I give thanks today because our God does not listen to man when He gives up because He can’t see beyond the moment in which he currently exists. When man says no way, God says it is now time for me to show up and He does mighty in power. Thank You God for being a Healer.

I give thanks today because God is ever Present, listening and waiting for me to call upon His Holy Name.

I give thanks because God does never take His eyes off me; All Seeing.
I give thanks because God is Just forgiving me of my sins when I confess and repent.
I give thanks because God has long arms and when I need comfort He reaches out and grab me, holding me close.
I give thanks because God gives me courage when I would run in fear.
I give thanks because God strengthens me and makes me bold and confident. I give thanks because when I am weak He is ever Strong.
I give thanks because God love me unconditionally in spite of my many many faults.
I give thanks because God tells me to cast all my cares and anxieties upon Him. Truly He never gives me more than He will bear for me.

I give thanks because no matter how small my issue if I give it to God He will work it out.
I give thanks because God is God and there is no other.
I give thanks because all power and authority belongs to God.

My soul cries thank You, bless is the Name of the Lord God Creator of heaven and earth, Everlasting Father-to Him there is no end. He holds me in the palm of His hands and no man can pluck me out. My soul shouts glory, glory hallelujah. There is no God like our God, I’ll tell the world wherever I go I’ve found a Savior and He’s sweet I know. Oh how my soul loves Him, how my heart longs for His Presence. He is worthy and my limited thanks is not enough for He is worthy of so much more than I could ever give.
