“Unloved”

“Strength for the Journey”
The Lord will work out His plans for my life---for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me. Psalm 138.8 NLT

“Reflections”
Love is in the air, when you look at the two of them you can see the fire in their eyes, the care they have for one another. Her beauty almost left him breathless. His love for her so strong the years seem but days. Finally the wedding day and the love of his life would be his. The rise of the morning light reveals not the love of his heart but another, one he did not love. She was not his raving beauty; she didn’t make his heart pound, she was not the one he gave seven years of his life.

Never able to measure up to her younger sister whose beauty claimed Jacob’s heart the moment he saw her, Leah knew she was not his choice, she couldn’t claim his whole heart, he loved Rachel more. They said she had no sparkle in her eyes, no man wanted her. Her father, Laban used trickery to get her a husband. How could she help but feel unloved, thus she lived unloved.

Are you living unloved? Has life left you wanting the love you see others share? Do you ever am I unlovable? Are you living a Leah’s life in misery trying to obtain love in all the wrong ways?

Lessons from Leah
Leah foolishly believed because God loved her and blessed her Jacob would love her. “The Lord has notice my misery and now my husband will love me.” Genesis 29: 32
God loves us, God answers our prayers but God does not force others to love us. God’s plans for our life are always according to His agenda and His ultimate plan. Leah focused only on her needs and desires for earthly love; she failed to focus on the love which is for eternity.

Leah knew God was very much aware of her circumstances and had heard her prayers. The Lord heard that I was unloved. Genesis 29:33
Leah continued to focus only on her circumstances; her desire to be loved and she never looked beyond God’s blessings to see His unfailing love for her. She never moved beyond her hurts to experience the power of God to erase our pain and fill our hearts with His love.

Three sons later, three times God has shown Leah He was working out His plan for her life. Yet she failed to see God was using her in a special way. She failed to see the anointing He had placed on her. Leah couldn’t move pass her situation, her desire to be loved. “Surely this time my husband will feel affection for me, since I have given him three sons. Genesis 29:34

God placed in us a desire to be loved; most women seek this emotional fulfillment. We feel lost and alone without it. The result is we often seek it in the wrong places and from the wrong people. God showed Leah His unfailing love for her; 8 of the 12 tribes came through her. God had a plan for Leah’s life. God has a plan for your life. Love may not come in the earth as you desire but know God loves you and his love is for all eternity. His love is beyond measure and it is unfailing. God will not abandon you to a loveless life. Open your heart to Him let your Spirit receive His love. Look at all God has done in your life and know He knows your every desire, He knows your misery; He has heard your prayers. Let God move you beyond your situation, He can and will take away your pain. He will bring you to a place of praise. Once again Leah became pregnant and gave birth to another son. She named him Judah, for she said; “Now I will praise the Lord!” Genesis 29:35a God’s love will make you sparkle as no other love.

Prayer
Lord thy God, thank you for your unfailing love, thank you for loving me beyond measure. Help me to always look beyond my circumstances when I am feeling unloved and look to You the great lover of my soul. Because of Your great love I sparkle with love. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen
