At His Feet-One Thing

There were two sisters Mary and Martha, Jesus visited with them often. On His first visit Martha was busy preparing food for Him and the other guest in the House. Mary was setting at Jesus feet listening to Him speak the word. Martha became upset because she was struggling trying to get the meal ready alone. She went to Jesus and asked Him to tell Mary to help her but Jesus didn’t respond as Martha had hoped He said “Martha you are worried and upset over all these details but there is only one thing necessary (worth being concerned about) Mary has discovered it, she has chosen the good part.” Jesus in essence was saying to Martha, Mary is doing the most important thing she is seeking the word, she is listening to me, she is gaining knowledge of me, the Father and kingdom living. Mary is taking the time needed to grow a relationship with me.  Taken from Luke 10:38-40 NLT

What are your thoughts?

Where do you see yourself in this scenario?

Are you choosing the most important thing on a daily bases or are you letting the cares and distractions of your life pulled you away from Jesus?

What one word or phrase is standing out or speaking to you the most?

How do we begin to get our priorities straight?

How do we begin to draw away from the world’s way of doing things and learn to do it God’s way?

How will setting at Jesus feet on a regular help you in getting to the place you want to be in life, in God?

God Speaks
It is the desire of my heart that you seek me daily.  I want you to spend time with me, getting to know me as you would any other person who is important to you.   I want you to know me with your whole heart.

Read Luke 10:38-42
John 1:1-4 In the beginning the Word already existed. He was with God, and he was God.  He was in the beginning with God.  He created everything there is. Nothing exists that he didn't make.  Life itself was in him, and this life gives light to everyone.

Prayer
Father God, Blessed Savior help me today to keep focus on the most important one thing.  I desire to sit at your feet, to draw closer to You and to hear Thy word.  Let me not put the cares and distractions of my life before you.  Help me to remember You are my life, You are the Word and the Word gave life to everything that was created. You are the One who holds this life together.  In Jesus loving and caring name I pray. Amen

Quench My Thirst

Come to the Well
O God, you are my God: I earnestly search for You.  My soul thirst for You, my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water.  I have seen you in Your sanctuary and gazed upon your power and glory.  Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise You!  I will praise You as long as I live, lifting up my hands to You in prayer.  You satisfy me more than the richest feast.  I will praise You with songs of joy.  I lie awake thinking of You meditating on You through the night.  Because You are my helper,  I sing for joy in the shadow of Your wings.  I cling to You; Your strong right hand holds me securely.    Psalm 63:1-8

God Speaks
Seek me with your whole heart, all your soul, all your strength. Come after me with everything in You, I can be found, I am available for you.  Come after me with all I have placed in you.  You are longing, thirsty , parched and dry but if You come to me in love, sincerely and with a heart ready for obedience "I will give you abundant water to quench your thirst and to moisten your parched fields." Isaiah 44:3a ' For I am the Lord who provides water in the wilderness, rivers in the desert."  Isaiah 43:20  I am the fountain of living water and I give generously.  You, I have made a dwelling place for my Spirit, my power and glory you have known.

A woman, thirsty, dry, broken, lonely, surrounded by poor decisions, shunned by other women, used by men, in need of water made her way to a well.  She went with no expectations, seeking to satisfy the physical.  My imagination having experienced brokenness, bad choices and thirst, sees her in prayer sharing with God all her fears, bad choices, drained emotions and hope for something better.  She knew He would come, for He was a hearing God, a prayer answering God.  Yes she being from Samaria had some idols in her life, she had even from time to time served some false gods, but she knew none of them heard her, saw her, knew her truth. She hadn't lifted her hands in praise, she hadn't meditated upon them in the night watch. She was waiting for the Messiah, He would come.  We know He will come, it may not be as we imagine or expect but we know He is coming, we cling to this His strong right hand it holds us securely.  She saw a man, a Jew and He speaks "give me a drink", unbelievable He speaks to me, He ask me, a Samaritan, an outcast, a broken woman,  a woman of shame, and guilt for a drink. What does Jesus speak to you woman of God, woman searching, woman who wants to believe but continuously allow doubt to overwhelm your belief, woman of confusion, woman of envy, woman of shame, lonely woman, depressed woman, lost woman, tired and weary woman, faithless woman, proud woman, serving woman, abiding woman, courageous woman, thirsty woman?  "Give me your life?"  "I am a sinner my life is so messed up, I have acted ungodly, I've walk in disobedience, my thoughts are sometimes unrighteous, I act selfishly, my heart has held envy, jealousy, gossip, how can You use it"? "There is nothing about you I don't know.  I've seen your choices, witness your ungodliness, I've felt your rejection of my word, and my way."    Still "I AM" Healer, Deliverer, the Source of Life,  the Truth, the Resurrection, all power belongs to Me. I am the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End."  Won't you drink of Me?  Quench your thirst, draw deep and find help for your soul.  Drink of me and you will have a hiding place in the shadow of my wings. My well will never run dry it flows into everlasting life.

I Speak to God
Lord God, the great I AM, my everything, all is in You the fountain of living water, who gives generously of Thy Spirit to all who asks.  You have made me a dwelling place for Your Holy Spirit that I may receive guidance for my life, strength in times of trouble, my Helper in the midst of every storm. My soul thirst for You, my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water.  I have seen you Lord in Your sanctuary and gazed upon your power and glory.  I have found Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise You!  I will praise You Lord my God as long as I live, lifting up my hands to You in prayer.  You satisfy me more than the richest feast. In You I have found contentment, hope, power, righteousness, godliness, belief and I will praise You with songs of joy.  In the night I lie awake thinking of You meditating on Your goodness and kindness.  Because You are my strength, deliverer and sustainer I sing for joy in the shadow of Your wings.  I cling to You; Your strong right hand holds me securely and I know You won't let me go, I will not fall in You. Oh Lord guide me to the well where daily I drink of you, help me to draw deeper and deeper every day, quench my thirst O God for in You I find rest, peace, hope, faith, the power to be a Woman of God. In Jesus Matchless, Holy Name I pray.

I---yes, I alone--will blot out your sins for my own sake and will never think of them again.  Isaiah 43:25 NLT

Life Resurrected

He has risen and the same power which raised Him raises me.  Because He lives I have life.  Eternal Life, abundant life, glorious life in the Lord.  It is up to me to embrace this life Oh that I would be like Christ.  He had a choice and He chose to be obedient to the Father.  He chose to embrace the Father and abide in Him, the result He was given the highest honor and now set at the right Hand of God. I too have a choice, a choice to use the power within through the Holy Spirit.  The choice to obey, to surrender, allowing the dead places in me to be resurrected, that I may live, be whole.  I have learned God really shines in the my broken places.  When I allow Him to repair, mend those places I rather keep buried I become what He created me to be.  I begin to reflect His image, rivers of water begin to flow from me.  I can give through His love for I see with His eyes, I can give from a heart filled with His compasson because I have felt His heart poured in me.  When I trust in the power of the resurrection I can live life with renewed hope, and with faith in a God who is not only able to do all things, but He does it exceedingly and abundantly above what my finite mind can ask.

Prayer
Lord God who is most holy I praise Your name for  resurrection power.  I praise Your name O God for giving me a Savior, renewing my hope and strengthen my faith.  In You O Lord alone I trust.  You Lord have repaired the broken places in me, You continually grow me and I know the good work You have started in me You will bring to completion.  Daily work in me O Lord until I reflect You in all my ways. In Jesus matchless ans loving name I pray.  Amen

The women were terrified and bowed with their faces to the ground.  then the men asked, "Why are you looking  among the dead for someone who is alive? He isn't here! He is risen from the dead! Luke 24:6-7 NLT
Either way Christ's love controls us.  Since we believe Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life.  He died for everyone so that those who receive His new life will no longer live for themselves.  Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.  2 Corinthians 5:14-15 NLT

Reposted to guide me through a new year 2011

The Lord says, I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you. Psalm 32:8 NLT

Thoughts of a Daughter
As I ponder the steps right and wrong of this past year how many of the wrong steps were because I took things in my own hands rather that let God lead me or because I strayed from the path He designed for me. Paul’s words come to mind “Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:13-14). Paul learned staying in the past will hinder moving into the presence. It keeps us from truly focusing on the ultimate goal, the grand prize; the heavenward call of God in Christ Jesus. Ponder the past year and seek to identify those things which you need to improve but do not stay there. In stead keep your eyes on the prize and put your trust in God and plan to continue walking with Him. He is faithful and His words are true, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life.” What an awesome promise, a true sign of God’s love for us. How blessed are His daughters whom He will guide along the best pathway for each individual life. Even more He promises to advise us and watch over us, what a loving Father. God desires the best for each of us and to ensure we have the best life He himself will lead us, what comfort in knowing God is ever watching over us and when we seek Him will advise us, granting us the wisdom and understanding we need to live the best life. A life designed by the Master’s hand.

Reflection
Knowing God’s plan for my life requires me to spend time in His word.
To understand God’s word I must spend time mediating on His word, studying and developing knowledge of God.
I must spend time in prayer, listening to God-I must know God’s voice.
I must open my spirit, heart, soul and mind to God, surrendering all to Him.

I am reminded of Abraham, God set the pathway before Him and Abraham was obedient to God. He trusted God and followed the path God set before him, even when he didn't understand he followed God's instructions. Abraham was blessed as God said He would bless him, He became the Father of many nations, his seed as the stars in the sky uncountable. Abraham's life was designed by God, God guided him, watched over him and kept him. Abraham willing left what was behind, keeping his eyes on the promise, a promise he didn't witness while he lived this earthly life, but the eternal promise, knowing it was a better promise, a promise worth waiting; a city with eternal foundations, a city designed and built by God. God's promise to me is just as binding as His promise to Abraham, when I seek Him with my whole heart, when I follow His guidance and the path He has set for my life I too shall live the eternal promise, a city not built by hands but laid with an eternal foundation built by the Master's Hand.

1 O Lord, you have searched me and you know me. 2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. 3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. 4 Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord. 5 You hem me in--behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. 7 Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? 8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. 9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, 10 even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. 11 If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me," 12 even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. 13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, 16 your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. Psalm 139 1-16,

Prayer from my Heart
Your word O lord is a lamp unto my feet and a light for my path. Guide me O God in this coming year; order my every step according to Your holy word. Guide me along the pathway of Your truth, open my heart to your guidance, help me O God to know Your voice, lead me along the pathway which is best for my life, keep your watchful eyes upon me and guide me to Your Holy mountain letting me rest in You as I fulfill Your every will for my life, designed by Your all powerful Hand. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen

I honor my God with words of thanks when He pulls me from the deep
I shout thank You Lord when I think about the food He put on my table, the house my table reside, the closet filled with clothes, shoes to put on my feet, a warm bed to
lay my head, refreshing water, vents which flow heat, and air, car to carry me to a job, my daughter to school, games etc, oh thanks for traveling mercies.

Gazing upon the blue sky filled with tiny white clouds, a flower busting with the brilliance of color, orange and brown and red and yellow leaves creating a magnificence view giving the heart joy, sparkling stars against the dark sky, a full moon glowing from afar thank you must be render to God for all creation.

Take up your cross

scripture Pictures, Images and Photos

Denying Self, putting away those things which are for my benefit only, bringing me pleasure but does nothing to advance the kingdom of God. Nothing which resemble the garments of Christ. Things which shows no one the way to Christ. These things hurt no one, they are not evil just time wasters with no real value, ie the phone, facebook. twitter, tv however they have kept me from pursuing my goal, what I say is my heart desire, have kept me from having a quiet time with God, from seeking His voice, His direction for my life. I didn't mean to spend so much time on nothing, just wanted to chill for a minute, relax. The minute turned to hours and when I look back nothing accomplished. Picking up the cross is not necessarily the big things, going to the mission field, organizing a fund raiser, invovlement in church activies etc, sometime picking up the cross is just giving up the unnecessary and moving to a place where Jesus prepares us for His plan. We never get to the big things for we have yet to conquer the little crosses. What will your cross be today?

Father God, my heart desire is to follow you, help me to daily take up the right cross, the cross which is pleasing to you. Daily help me to remember time is precious and very valuable, a gift from you to offer back to You each day. Thank You my Lord for not forsaking me as I have foraken You. Thank You for not laying down the cross, and all its' pain to just chill, relax a bit. I know no cross I pick up will ever measure the one You picked up for me. In Your Precious Name Jesus I pray. Amen

Courage

scripture Pictures, Images and Photos

Fear need not know my name
Fear need not call on me
Fear need not walk near me
Fear need not linger in the shadows of my house
Fear need not come knocking at my door
Fear need not seek to derail me
Fear need not think of toying with me
Fear need only to flee for I am of good courage, not afraid for I know God is with me where ever I go for I seek to go only where He leads, where His strong arm carries.

“Unloved”

“Strength for the Journey”
The Lord will work out His plans for my life---for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me. Psalm 138.8 NLT

“Reflections”
Love is in the air, when you look at the two of them you can see the fire in their eyes, the care they have for one another. Her beauty almost left him breathless. His love for her so strong the years seem but days. Finally the wedding day and the love of his life would be his. The rise of the morning light reveals not the love of his heart but another, one he did not love. She was not his raving beauty; she didn’t make his heart pound, she was not the one he gave seven years of his life.

Never able to measure up to her younger sister whose beauty claimed Jacob’s heart the moment he saw her, Leah knew she was not his choice, she couldn’t claim his whole heart, he loved Rachel more. They said she had no sparkle in her eyes, no man wanted her. Her father, Laban used trickery to get her a husband. How could she help but feel unloved, thus she lived unloved.

Are you living unloved? Has life left you wanting the love you see others share? Do you ever am I unlovable? Are you living a Leah’s life in misery trying to obtain love in all the wrong ways?

Lessons from Leah
Leah foolishly believed because God loved her and blessed her Jacob would love her. “The Lord has notice my misery and now my husband will love me.” Genesis 29: 32
God loves us, God answers our prayers but God does not force others to love us. God’s plans for our life are always according to His agenda and His ultimate plan. Leah focused only on her needs and desires for earthly love; she failed to focus on the love which is for eternity.

Leah knew God was very much aware of her circumstances and had heard her prayers. The Lord heard that I was unloved. Genesis 29:33
Leah continued to focus only on her circumstances; her desire to be loved and she never looked beyond God’s blessings to see His unfailing love for her. She never moved beyond her hurts to experience the power of God to erase our pain and fill our hearts with His love.

Three sons later, three times God has shown Leah He was working out His plan for her life. Yet she failed to see God was using her in a special way. She failed to see the anointing He had placed on her. Leah couldn’t move pass her situation, her desire to be loved. “Surely this time my husband will feel affection for me, since I have given him three sons. Genesis 29:34

God placed in us a desire to be loved; most women seek this emotional fulfillment. We feel lost and alone without it. The result is we often seek it in the wrong places and from the wrong people. God showed Leah His unfailing love for her; 8 of the 12 tribes came through her. God had a plan for Leah’s life. God has a plan for your life. Love may not come in the earth as you desire but know God loves you and his love is for all eternity. His love is beyond measure and it is unfailing. God will not abandon you to a loveless life. Open your heart to Him let your Spirit receive His love. Look at all God has done in your life and know He knows your every desire, He knows your misery; He has heard your prayers. Let God move you beyond your situation, He can and will take away your pain. He will bring you to a place of praise. Once again Leah became pregnant and gave birth to another son. She named him Judah, for she said; “Now I will praise the Lord!” Genesis 29:35a God’s love will make you sparkle as no other love.

Prayer
Lord thy God, thank you for your unfailing love, thank you for loving me beyond measure. Help me to always look beyond my circumstances when I am feeling unloved and look to You the great lover of my soul. Because of Your great love I sparkle with love. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen

At His Feet

I have been away from this wonderful world of ministry for a while. And as I struggle to make my way back to this place of inspiration and yes back to God I was looking through some previous writings not published and I came across one which was published in 2008. It was a reminder to my Spirit where I need to be and what I am currently missing in my life. Sisters I have strayed from my Centered, my anchored. Glory to God He has held me close even in my mess and He has revealed Himself to me in His awesomeness as He always does. Glory to Him, God who will not let us move too far away before He calls us back. The lesson for me is we can be in the midst of minstry and kingdom work and still stray from the heart of God. The enemy is cunning and we must be cautious and ever alert know he is waiting to catch us off guard. Giving him no glory God is still the greatest lover of my soul and He is ever watcing over me, keeping me in His everlasting care. Today I share again "At His Feet" may I never leave them again.

She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what He said. Luke 10: 39 Mary has chosen what is better and it will not be taken away from her. Luke 10: 42

Mary had something I do not she had Jesus in the flesh, He was there with her, she could reach out and touch Him. She was able to get up close and personal. She was able to hear His audible voice. She was able to look into His face, His eyes and see something real. Something she had never seen in another and she knew the most important thing for her was to set at His feet and grasp everything He had to give. She didn’t want to miss any of it, she wanted it all so she put all else behind her and put her heart, spirit and mind on Him. She may not have fully understood all she was seeking or what she would gain but she knew this man was worthy of her attention. She knew when He spoke she felt different on the inside, she felt an emptiness in her inner being begin to fill with more love, more peace, and a desire to have more of Him. She knew He would take her to a special place, a place she had never been, a place of safety. She felt deep in her heart the words of the psalmist “those who dwell in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” (Psalm 91:1-2) Then Mary took a twelve-ounce jar of expensive perfume made from essence of nard, and she anointed Jesus feet with it, wiping His feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance. John 12:3

When I set at His feet I become filled with His fragrance, clothing myself with righteousness, humility, goodness, wisdom and knowledge, and God’s truth.
When I set at His feet I am safe wrapped in the shadow of the Almighty. I have a place of refuge, for God takes me to His Secret Place where I am covered from the ways of the world and the attack of the enemy.
When I set at His feet I move to a place of preparation for my burial. I begin to bury those things not of Christ, those things which lead to sin, trespasses and iniquities.
When I set at His feet He pours expensive perfume over me. His grace, mercy, and love and I begin to work out my own salvation carefully with His guidance.
When I set at His feet He anoints me for His service.
When I set at His feet I find I do not weep alone but He cries with me, feeling all my pain.

Scripture shares with us another woman, a woman different than Mary. A woman who found herself broken in many pieces and she stood in need of more of Jesus. A woman who decided to place herself upon the Potter’s wheel; because she understood she was a woman who needed to be molded and shaped before she could become a vessel of expensive perfume.
When a certain immoral woman from the city heard he was eating there, she brought a beautiful alabaster jar filled with expensive perfume. Then she knelt behind him at his feet, weeping. Her tears fell on His feet, and she wiped them off with her hair. Then she kept kissing His feet and putting perfume on them. Luke 7: 37-38

When I set at the feet of Jesus I receive cleansing.
When I set at the feet of Jesus I receive forgiveness from my sins. I no longer hold myself in condemnation.
When I set at the feet of Jesus I know I can pour out my all upon Him. I can give Him every situation, every circumstance, every care. I can pour and pour and all He will receive.
When I set at the feet of Jesus I learn to praise through the trails, troubles, situations and circumstances of my life. The more I pour on Him the more He pours on me until I move from praise to worship. It is at His feet I learn to lift Him up, magnify Him, and glorify Him. At His feet I learn how to love Him back. I learn to express loving adoration; He becomes the true center of my joy.

There is yet another written in scripture who leads me to the feet of Jesus. She stood in need of a physical healing, but she has taught many of us we can take all our issues to EL SHADDAI, "God All Sufficient."

And there was a woman in the crowd who had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding. She had spent everything she had on doctors and still could find no cure. She came up behind Jesus and touched the hem of his robe. Immediately, the bleeding stopped. Who touched me?" Jesus asked. Everyone denied it, and Peter said, "Master, this whole crowd is pressing up against you." But Jesus told him, "No, someone deliberately touched me, for I felt healing power go out from me." When the woman realized that Jesus knew, she began to tremble and fell to her knees before him. The whole crowd heard her explain why she had touched him and that she had been immediately healed. "Daughter," he said to her, "your faith has made you well. Go in peace." Luke 8:43-48

This woman didn’t reach for Jesus hand, she didn’t plead with Him hoping to touch His heart, she didn’t call out His name asking for mercy she went to a different place of power, she went to the hem of His garment and at His feet she found immediate healing.

When I set at the feet of Jesus I find healing for my soul.
When I set at the feet of Jesus I find my faith grows.
When I set at the feet of Jesus I find peace for my weary soul.
When I set at the feet of Jesus I find rest.
When I set at the feet of Jesus I find no matter how many years I carry my stuff if I surrender it to Him once and for all He can immediately find a cure.
When I set at the feet of Jesus I find healing power.
When I set at the feet if Jesus I find restoration.

When I set at the feet of Jesus my heart come to an understanding of who Jesus really is in my life.
He calms my fears and removes my doubts. He lifts me to a place beyond my self a place of hope, a place where I know I am more than a conquer and no weapons formed against me shall prevail. A place where no matter what surrounds, no matter the trails my God is still good and still trustworthy and most of all still God. At His feet I learn over and over God meets me right where I am, no matter where that might be; hopeless, restless, lost, doubtful, confused, seeking, desiring, reaching, exploring, trusting, loving, praising, worshipping. He is there in it all, and through it all. “One God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” Ephesians 4: 6

Prayer
My Lord at Your precious nail scared, blood stained feet I place my trust, my hope, my sins, my praise, my worship, myself.
