Friday Focus

Trust in the Lord

But Jesus told him, "No! The Scriptures say,
'People need more than bread for their life; they must feed on every word of God.' “Matthew 4:4

He replied, "But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice." Luke 11:28

Scripture Mediation
"But blessed are those who trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they go right on producing delicious fruit. Jeremiah 17:7-8

Apply this scripture to yourself and reflect
"I am blessed when I trust in the LORD and have made the LORD my hope and confidence. I am like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Therefore I am not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. My leaves stay green, and they go right on producing delicious fruit.

I am blessed when______________
I am blessed when I have made the Lord my ________________
Where am I putting my hope and trust?
Identify your roots. (Characteristics of God, Life principals) What is feeding your roots? Where are your roots; On the surface or deep in the water?
Identify the heat in your life? (issues, concerns etc) Are there any drought conditions in your life? (Prayer, Bible study, relationships, growth etc) If so what should your attitude be about heat and drought conditions? What has your attitude been up until now? Do you need to make an attitude change?
What color are your leaves today? Brown-too little water, yellow-too much murky water, or green-healthily being nourished?
Consider your fruits; are they delicious, sour, or rancid?

Offer God a prayer of thanks for those areas which are on target and ask Him to transform those areas which are not meeting His standards.

Identify at least 3 steps you can take to live these scriptures?

Father we give thanks for your words and your guidance. Lead me Father God to a greater trust of you. Help me to cast away those things I have chosen to trust rather than You. In you Lord I put my hope and my confidence for in You I have success. Open my eyes that I might see exactly where I stand, help me to be truthful with myself that I may bear delicious fruit. Strengthen my roots and keep my leaves green nourishing me with Your Holy Spirit. In the Name of Jesus I pray.

Be blessed today my sisters!

I blessed because *U* are a blessing!!, Boy sis I can remember being in all of them, the yellowing leaves, the dry times, but I can also rejoice in the times of being watered and taken care of till my lives became a beautiful green, and started flourishing. That is why it is so important to stay in the word and prayer, to be a tree planted by the river where my roots can soak up all that it needs!!Praise the Lord. I filled in the blanks too as I read through the post. What a refreshing post..

God Bless you my Sister in Christ, You have a very inspiring blog site. Found this site through my wife Sharon. We know that in order for a tree to stand strong during the storms of life we have to have strong roots, deep roots that are based and founded on the word of God. It is so true about the fruit that you speak we can give fruit in our life but the fruit that we produce is no good if it cannot be consumed by others. Our fruit must always have a good taste and must nourish the souls of others. And it must be a source of food for the hungry, needy, and lost.
I can see why Sharon speaks highly of your site, keep encouraging others with your good fruit.
Your brother in Christ Brad
