Power Word---- PRAISE

I have heard two sermons in the last 2 Sundays on “Praise” the first one was about praising together, the 2nd about forcing praise. I believe this is God speaking to me. There is some praising I need to do or I need to look at praise in my life, God is requiring something of me and I need to learn more about praise to prepare for whatever the assignment. This has led me to make Praise my power word for the day.

Praise is giving thanks to God, recognizing Him for His great works.
Praise is giving thanks to God by living as He commands and desire.
Praise is giving thanks to God by walking in His word.

I knew praise was important to God, but with this study I learn Praise is extremely important to God, David called 4000 Levites just to offer praise to the Lord. 4000 united voices offering praise to the Lord, daily. Imagine your voice, my voice, and other believers voices lifted in praise together to the Lord. Can your mind grasp what it would be like in heaven on the Sabbath if every person in worship lifted voices of praise to God? Four thousand will work as gatekeepers, and another four thousand will praise the LORD with the musical instruments I have made." 1Chronicles 23:5

We offer praise to God when He has performed a mighty act for us, healed us from our sickness, provided for us financially when we saw no way, provided a the way for a wayward child to come home, saved a relationship, sent rain to a dry land right when mandatory restrictions were to become effective, made a path when the road was blocked off. We praise God when we see Him active in our lives. He is your God, the one who is worthy of your praise, the one who has done mighty miracles that you yourselves have seen. Deuteronomy 10:21

Sometimes we have to praise God for what we expect Him to do to let Him know we trust in Him and His word, so though the promise has not yet been manifested we know it is coming so we offer God praise as we expectantly wait. O God, I praise your word. Yes, LORD, I praise your word. Psalm 56:10

God showed me when I desire the Him to commune with me, when I need Him; His great Presence close I just need to lift my voice with sincere, heartfelt praise. I need only lift my voice with words of His goodness, love, and faithfulness. The trumpeters and singers performed together in unison to praise and give thanks to the LORD. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals, and other instruments, they raised their voices and praised the LORD with these words: "He is so good! His faithful love endures forever!" At that moment a cloud filled the Temple of the LORD. 2 Chronicles 5:13

The Levites were chosen to assist the priests in taking care of the temple and a part of their duties were to offer praise to the Lord. They didn’t wait until the Sabbath day to offer praise to God. From the grumbling, complaining, disobedient Israelites I learn my praise should be daily, and ongoing. The Levites were called to lead the people in praise; I should lead my family, friends, and congregation in praise, by being the first to offer praise to God. Morning and evening should find me involved in acts of praise. And each morning and evening they stood before the LORD to sing songs of thanks and praise to him. 1 Chronicles 23:30

Ways We Praise
By performing good deeds. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father. Matthew 5:16

By having a heart right with God and seeking His praise rather than man’s. No, a true Jew is one whose heart is right with God. And true circumcision is not a cutting of the body but a change of heart produced by God's Spirit. Whoever has that kind of change seeks praise from God, not from people. Romans 2:29

By producing good fruits through Jesus Christ. May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation – those good things that are produced in your life by Jesus Christ – for this will bring much glory and praise to God. Philippians 1:11

By proclaiming the glory of His name. With Jesus' help, let us continually offer our sacrifice of praise to God by proclaiming the glory of his name. Hebrews 13:15

Why we Praise
We reverence God. And from the throne came a voice that said, "Praise our God, all his servants, from the least to the greatest, all who fear him." Revelation 19:5
As a sacrificial Offering. Let us, then, always offer praise to
God as our sacrifice through Jesus, which is the offering presented by lips that confess him as Lord. Hebrews 13:15
We have been blessed with every spiritual blessing. We belong to Christ. How we praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we belong to Christ.
Because of God’s wonderful kindness poured out on us. Long ago, even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. And this gave him great pleasure. So we praise God for the wonderful kindness he has poured out on us because we belong to his dearly loved Son. He is so rich in kindness that he purchased our freedom through the blood of his Son, and our sins are forgiven. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding. God's secret plan has now been revealed to us; it is a plan centered on Christ, designed long ago according to his good pleasure. And this is his plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ – everything in heaven and on earth. Furthermore, because of Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us from the beginning, and all things happen just as he decided long ago.
We trust in Christ. God's purpose was that we who were the first to trust in Christ should praise our glorious God. And now you also have heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you.
God has given us the Holy Spirit as our promise He will give us everything He has promised. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. The Spirit is God's guarantee that he will give us everything he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. This is just one more reason for us to praise our glorious God.
Ephesians 1:3-14

Praise is more than words of thanks flowing from our mouths it is also a godly life
flowing with good fruits, deeds and act that glorify God our Father and God our Savior Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.
